Indianapolis
Children's Museum
Accent Limestone was pleased to be awarded two (2)
separate custom limestone carving projects during
2009 from the Indianapolis Children’s Museum in the
development of their Anne Frank Peace Garden. The
first project was to custom carve permanent garden
sculptures of the Seven Wonders of the World. This
was a wonderful opportunity for our limestone
carvers, two of which are Master Limestone Carvers.
The stone sculptures took countless hours of hand
carving, with very close attention to textures and
proportional details. The Great Wall of China was
the most challenging with the details of the brick
and stone walls, which totaled 22 feet of carved
limestone. The Coliseum began as a 21,000 pound
limestone block and was reduced to around 11,500
pounds at completion. The end result was a beautiful
garden area that children can actually climb on the
sculptures and learn about their historical
significance.

Anne Frank
Exhibit
The Anne Frank
Exhibit was another permanent Indianapolis
Children’s Museum project that Accent
appreciated having the opportunity to work
on. It is a tribute to Anne Frank’s legacy
and a lasting memorial in the Anne Frank
Peace Garden. |
